Dear MENC West Virginians,

I'm writing to let you know about a special event coming to West Virginia in February of 2006. Our National Anthem Project Road Show will be in Charleston (see below information), and we hope many of you are close enough to attend. The Road Show ( will have a historic display and interactive games brought to you by the History Channel; an instrument petting zoo; National Anthem Performance Contest; and (with your participation) special concerts featuring local dignitaries, celebrities, choirs, and students. If you can, please view pictures at (on the right side of the page) or some of the attached conceptual art work (picture1, picture2) and come join in the fun and learning for all ages! We encourage you to invite others in your community to join in this opportunity as well, it is an excellent chance for them to see how music education can make a difference in the lives of so many people.

If you have a group that can come perform some songs (including the National Anthem), please contact me to discuss these locations further. Initially, please send me your name, contact information, your group's name, grade level(s), and approx. number of students performing. Each location will have risers, a sound system, microphones, and a keyboard. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
